Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Renter Vault is provided by Orbitech LLC, 8 The Green, Suite 10237, Dover, Delaware 19901, United States (“Orbitech,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). For privacy questions, contact jpaglaste@orbitech.llc. General product support is available at info@orbitech.llc.

2. Information processed by the app

When you choose to create records, the app may process the following information on your device:

• Property names, rental addresses, lease dates, security-deposit amounts, and landlord or property-manager contact details.
• Room lists, inspection types, condition selections, notes, repair updates, expenses, and communication logs.
• Photos or videos you capture or select, and documents you choose to copy into the private vault.
• Locally generated reports, file names, timestamps, and SHA-256 file digests used as comparison aids.
• Local preferences, reminder settings, and a local record of whether Pro features are available.

This content is stored in the app’s private storage on your device. Orbitech does not automatically receive it.

3. Device permissions

Renter Vault asks for access only after you choose a related feature:

• Camera: to capture rental-condition photos or videos.
• Photos: to select existing photos or videos for a record.
• Microphone: to include audio when you choose to record a video.
• Notifications: to deliver local reminders you schedule.

You can deny or later change these permissions in device settings. Renter Vault does not request location, contacts, health information, or tracking permission.

4. Purchases

Apple or Google processes in-app purchases under its own account and privacy terms. The app receives product and transaction-status information needed to unlock or restore Pro features. Orbitech does not receive your full payment-card number.

5. Sharing and disclosure

Nothing uploads automatically. If you use the system share sheet, export a PDF, or otherwise send a file, the destination you select will process that copy under its own terms. We do not sell personal information and do not share app records for behavioral advertising.

We may disclose limited information if required to comply with applicable law, protect rights or safety, or respond to a valid legal process. Because the app is local-first, we generally do not possess the rental records stored only on your device.

6. Retention and deletion

Local records remain on your device until you delete an individual item, use “Delete all vault data,” or uninstall the app. Removing the app can permanently remove locally stored records. Copies you exported to another app or service must be deleted from that destination separately. Keep independent backups of important documents.

7. Security

Renter Vault uses platform-provided private app storage and keeps its local database and copied files inside the app container. No security method can guarantee absolute protection. A SHA-256 digest can help compare files; it does not independently prove authorship, capture time, authenticity, or legal admissibility.

8. Children

Renter Vault is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app is intended for people managing their own rental records.

9. U.S. privacy choices

Orbitech does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because app content is normally kept only on your device, the in-app deletion controls are the fastest way to access or remove it. You may still contact us to ask about information, if any, that Orbitech directly holds about you.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the product or law changes. We will post the revised date here. Before adding cloud sync, accounts, advertising, analytics, or other remote processing, we will update this policy and the applicable store disclosures.
